Dr. Yaroslav Yarokhno

PhD DVM MSc.

Dr. Yaroslav Yarokhno (Dr. Yaro) with over 20 years of general and last 10 years of North American experience has developed the necessary skills to provide high-quality veterinary care.

Originally from Ukraine, Dr. Yaro developed a passion for animal care at a young age. At just 17 years old, he performed his first surgery—a horse castration—which marked the beginning of his lifelong dedication to veterinary medicine.

Having scientific degrees from Ukraine Dr. Yaro conducted research projects across multiple countries, including Ukraine, Egypt, Jordan, Germany, and gained animal care experience in Ireland.

Dr. Yaro moved to Canada about 16 years ago. In 2015, he completed a Master of Science degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, and then the VSTEP review program for internationally trained veterinary graduates at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, in 2016. After that, he practiced veterinary medicine in several provinces across Canada and the United States, gaining extensive experience in small animal care. It was in Canada that he discovered his true love for working with companion animals, as his previous experiences in Ukraine were mostly with large animals and research.

Now settled in Moncton, Dr. Yaro is proud to have opened his own veterinary practice, allowing him to provide care to the pets of the Greater Moncton community. He feels privileged to contribute to the well-being of local pets and their families.

In his personal life, Dr. Yaro enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and two cats. An avid exercise enthusiast, he values time outdoors and in the gym.

Since 2014, Dr. Yaro has also been committed to supporting his home country, Ukraine, by sending financial aid amidst the ongoing conflict followed by the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022.

Though he’s had the privilege of working with many different breeds, Dr. Yaro believes that every pet deserves equal love and care, and he strives to treat all animals with the utmost respect and dedication.
